CBB weekday non top 25 outlook February 22-25

After a crazy weekend in the College Basketball world we are less than three weeks away from selection Sunday. With that being said there is a jam packed slate of games this week with major postseason implications at stake so lets take a look at the top five non top 25 games this week.

5. Monday 2/22 6:00 p.m. Stadium Prime Ticket Pepperdine Vs. Saint Mary's

A little west coast action to start off the work week as Pepperdine is taking the trek up to northern Cali to take on Saint Mary's. With Gonzaga controlling the top spot in the conference with a four game lead over BYU. Even though Saint Mary's is struggling in West Coast Conference play this game should be a very good matchup for Pepperdine as they are just a game and a half back from the second spot in the conference and with just three games left in the regular season this is the perfect game for the Waves to get themselves over the hump. If they want any shot at competing for that second spot in the Conference they need to rely on Colbey Ross the senior guard who is averaging 17 points per game.

4. Wednesday 2/24 8:30 p.m. ESPN+ Sam Houston State Vs. Abilene Christian

It is the battle for first place in the Southland conference as both teams come into this game with a 10-1 record in conference play. The Sam Houston Bearkats have won their last three games dropping their first game in conference play to Stephen F. Austin 78-68. Abilene Christian's only conference loss was a 64-57 defeat to Sam Houston earlier in the season but have knocked off Stephen F Austin by 20 points two games after their first loss in conference play this season. This game not only should be an amazing game to watch but it should be an interesting race to the finish line in the conference as there is virtually a four way tie for the top spot in the conference with two other teams just a half game out.

3. Wednesday 2/24 5:00 p.m. ESPN+ St. Bonaventure Vs. Davidson

These two teams met yesterday as the Bonnies defeated the Wildcats 69-58 in their first matchup of the season. This second matchup has a lot of intrigue as with just two games left on Davidson's schedule and with the Wildcats just a game and a half out of the top spot in the conference it will be a must win if they want any shot at the top spot in the Atlantic 10 conference.

2. Monday 2/22 7:00 p.m. ESPN Syracuse Vs. Duke

Even though this matchup doesn't have as much glitz and glamour as it normally does these two teams are still fighting for a spot in the postseason. Both teams are in the middle of the pack in the Atlantic Costal Conference but are just 2.5 games behind Florida State so with only a few games left in the season this matchup is crucial for both sides for seeding in the ACC tournament in hopes at somehow winning the conference title and somehow making the tournament as both have no shots at dancing in March with an at large bid.

1. Tuesday 2/23 6:00 p.m. CBSSN Saint Louis Vs. VCU

This matchup features a bubble team in VCU who is looking to solidify its spot in the tournament without having to win the conference championship. The Billikens went on pause for most of the month of January and when they returned they dropped their first two games. Since then they have won four of their last five and are looking to make a jump in the standings as they are just 2.5 games out of the top spot in the A-10 conference.
