Even in the strangest MLB season of all-time, the Los Angeles Dodgers found a way to make everything feel normal once again.

With a 7-5 win over their NL West adversaries, the San Diego Padres, the Dodgers secured a spot in the playoffs for an eighth consecutive season.

The win helped the Dodgers pull ahead of the Padres by 3 ½ games in the race for the NL West crown, a sizeable amount as just 10 games remain in the shortened 60-game season.

Not even an 11-7 start to that shortened season could shake the confidence of the Dodgers.

The club responded with a dominant 24-8 run beginning on August 12 that catapulted them to the best record in all of baseball.

Of the previously mentioned 10 remaining games, just three are with an NL West opponent: the Colorado Rockies, who have a 22-26 record.

Following that series, the Dodgers will tangle with the AL West’s A’s and Angels.
