Favorite:

1. Winthrop

No questions asked this tournament is Winthrops to lose. Other than their one hiccup to UNC Asheville Winthrop has been unfazed as they won 16 straight ball games to start the season and then after their loss rattled off four wins to finish out the regular season. The Eagles are ranked 33rd in the country in scoring offense. A big part of that ranking comes from the dominance of Chandler Vaudrin. The senior from Uniontown, Ohio leads the team in four out of the five major statistical categories. He is registering 12 points six rebounds six assists and one steal per game. The guard will be a major key in the team's success moving forward.

Dark Horse:

2. Radford

The only team that really has a shot of slaying the giant is Radford. According to teamrankings.com they give the Highlanders a 41 percent chance of making the championship game and just a 10 percent chance of winning the conference title. Radford just like many of the other teams in the Big South struggled against Winthrop losing both games by scores of 80-64 and 55-47.

The only problem with the Highlanders right now is that it looks like they are trending in the wrong direction as they dropped four straight games in Big South action. They finally were able to get back in the win column Wednesday by defeating Mount Aloysius which is a DIII school from Pennsylvania.

Radford has spread the love this season as their leading scorer Fah'mir Ali is only averaging 10 points and three assists per game for the Highlanders this season. Radford will have a favorable matchup in the quarterfinals and will need to ride that momentum for the rest of the tournament to have any shot against if they were to draw Winthrop in the championship.
